FAQs
There are several different ways of doing IELTS. Which one should I use?
IELTS can be done at an IELTS centre on paper or using a computer, and online. However, we strongly recommend that you do your IELTS tests at an IELTS centre on computer. This makes a One Skill Retake possible and can potentially substantially shorten the time it takes you to reach your target.
How long will it take me to reach my target score?
There is no answer to this question as everyone’s situation is different. However, here’s a simple rule of thumb: 3 months to improve by half a point, and up to 12 months to improve by a full point are not unusual.
For most of these programmes, I need to do an IELTS test before I begin. Why is this?
We need to know where you are at the moment. If you are within 1 point of a programme’s target score, we will admit you to that programme. In other words, if you plan to take the IELTS 7.5 programme, you will need to show us a valid IELTS test report with an overall score of 6.5 and nothing below 6.
Is it expensive to prepare for IELTS?
Again, it’s hard to say for sure. However, in general, the answer is “yes”. Most people need to take the IELTS assessment at least twice. Reliable materials for IELTS (published by British Council, Cambridge English, IDP or IELTS.org only) are never cheap. And good quality IELTS training is definitely going to be pricey. Your best bet in terms of saving money is to work hard and achieve your target score as quickly as possible.
I don’t have time to do loads of practice. Can you help me?
Probably not! If you really need that score, you will have to set aside 4-6 hours a week (at a minimum) for one on one work with your trainer, assignments and enrichment work. More is better.
What books do I need to buy for your programmes?
We don’t recommend any books, at all. We provide top quality enrichment work to supplement your one on one work. In some cases, we can make additional enrichment work available to you at an extra charge.
How much does it cost?
Contact us for details. The exact cost will depend on your situation.
