IELTS 6.5
This programme aims to help you achieve an overall score of 6.5 in the IELTS (Academic) exam, with no sub-score below 6.0. IELTS 6.5 is suitable for entrance to a wide range of university courses and may be required for immigration. It is arranged in modules consisting of 24 hours of one on one instruction and about 24 hours of self study using our provided materials.
“Failure is success if we learn from it.”
You will need to take the IELTS (Academic) assessment before starting this course. If your overall score is below 5.5, or if speaking and/or writing sub-scores are below 5.5, you should take our IELTS 5.0 course first.
You will need to re-take the IELTS exam at the end of every module of this programme so that your progress can be assessed and your training focused where it will help you the most. We do not arrange IELTS assessments for you, though we can give advice on how to go about doing this. We run regular briefings on the options that are available to you so that you can choose the form that suits you best.
Before beginning this programme, you will need to attend a one hour online session in which we walk you through setting up your online study using our platform, accessing training activities, and writing and submitting essays. There is a small fee for this session.

FAQs
Why do I need to take the IELTS test before starting a module of this programme (including the first module)?
It is really important that we have accurate measures of where you are when you begin your preparation, and how you are progressing towards your goal. Each IELTS test report helps us fine tune your training and focus on the skills and knowledge you need for your target.
What happens if I reach my IELTS target before the end of a module?
That is a fantastic outcome. To celebrate, we refund unused training time on a pro-rated basis.
I notice that you don’t mention working on IELTS Reading or Listening.
That’s right. We can optionally provide you with (very useful) enrichment activities for these two skills at an additional cost. Our thinking is that you are best to approach these skills through enriching your English and practicing with authentic IELTS past papers. These are available from British Council, Cambridge English and IDP. We strongly recommend that you not use IELTS practice papers from other sources.
My overall IELTS score was 5.5 in my first assessment, but I got ‘4.5’ for writing. Can I participate in the IELTS 6.5 programme?
We will not accept you into this programme. I strongly recommend that you attend our IELTS 5.0 programme until your writing score is at least 5.5.
I don’t like studying online.
Fair enough. Our in person trainer for this programme, Mr Mark Moore, will be happy to work with you.
